Introduction

Welcome to Second Life Tool Ranking!

You need to be registered with an avatar at Second Life http://secondlife.com/
Please note the system requirements made by Second Life. Can You Run It?

Feel free to join, to create groups, and to post your contributions and SL tool events. Though we appreciate your registration and participation, this Ning social network is open to all readers without registration. Your Second Life tool ranking via the forms below is the final objective. This Ning is a support platform for this objective.

The results of this effort are implemented into the Master Mindmap for Second Life Educators and Trainers (and Event Providers). You may need Flash.

Posted SL tool events (GMT) will be transferred to a Google calendar with RSS feed (pending). You will need to register in order to post SL tool events, or receive other breaking news from the Ning RSS feed in the left column.

If registered, use the Twitter Tracker gadget on your member page. Click on "Add Application" below your picture. Follow me on Twitter: SLToolRanking or SLToolRanking Twitter Group http://tgr.me/g/SLToolRanking

Second Life Tool Ranking

Do you want to know what Second Life tools are the favorites of educators and trainers? Here you have the opportunity to add free Second Life tools to an on-going list and/or rank the existing ones listed. Then look at the results. A form for non-free ones is also provided.

The focus is on unraveling a transparent "quick and dirty" Top 10 tool mix for contingent practitioner's settings in Part B without the need for registering anywhere. You do not need to be registered here in order to add your data to the forms, or to view the results.

The following academic collections of SL tools require registration, and do not unravel the questions of Part B regarding "educational settings AND preferred Top 10 rankings" from a practitioner's viewpoint:

- The Salamander Project http://eduisland.net/salamanderwiki/index.php?title=Main_Page
- Resource Database for Second Life Educators http://simteach.com/sled/db/

As soon as the statistical sample size N of the entries make some sense, Part C will be implemented. Part A and B are still structuring in their beta form. Your initial data entry helps to improve this structure.

1. The free tool questionaire is split into 3 forms:
Part A - Adding A Free Tool http://tinyurl.com/second-life-tool-ranking-a
Part B - Ranking Your Top 10 Free Tools http://tinyurl.com/second-life-tool-ranking-b
Part C - Check the Results (assessment of sample size and time interval pending)

The data entry list of Part A (free) is updated every 5 minutes and can be viewed here:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pdD2fESMENo0NNjQ-dUHLLg

The data entry list of Part B (free) is updated every 5 minutes and can be viewed here:

RSS Feed for Part B (free)

2. The non-free tool questionaire is also split into 3 forms:
Part A - Adding A Non-Free Tool http://tinyurl.com/second-life-tool-ranking-a1
Part B - Ranking Your Top 10 Non-Free Tools http://tinyurl.com/second-life-tool-ranking-b1
Part C - Check the Results (assessment of sample size and time interval pending)

The data entry list of Part A (non-free) is updated every 5 minutes and can be viewed here:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pdD2fESMENo1NWzK19AP3Rg

The data entry list of Part B (non-free) is updated every 5 minutes and can be viewed here:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pdD2fESMENo2fZu20JLdDGg

RSS Feed for Part A (non-free)
http://spreadsheets.google.com/feeds/list/pdD2fESMENo1NWzK19AP3Rg/od6/public/basic

RSS Feed for Part B (non-free)
http://spreadsheets.google.com/feeds/list/pdD2fESMENo2fZu20JLdDGg/od6/public/basic

3. Any suggestions or improvement tips can be added to this form:

College Essay Vs Personal Statement

Usually colleges have their own guidelines when it comes to college essay for admission or personal statements. It depends on what the actual college requires. You should consider that the colleges look at more than just college essays for admission statements; they look at your grades, GPA, class standing, extracurricular activities, and school service before the… Continue

This evening I was having another conversation with James O'Reilly about Second Life. At the end of my soap box piece, James suggested I post this so others could learn from it. S… Continue

Speech Writing: How To Write A Good One?

Speech writing is in lots of ways similar writing a paper, apart from that there is no penalty for spelling and punctuation mistakes. You should not try to write words in your speech that you are not relaxed pronouncing or don't know the meaning of because it can lead to a less fluently delivered speech.

To be able to write a high-quality speech is a lot like making a good cake. Having the right elements is key for it's success. Every… Continue

My Dissertation Writing Story…

When Dissertation Troubles Surrounded Me:

This is an appreciative letter to thank the people who provided pin-point and professional UK dissertation writing help at the time when I was totally disappointed and had braced myself to meet the disaster regarding my PhD degree. It was the worst time of my life when I even thought of my dissertation disapproval.

I was busy working and handling my social life. You can say that I was hanging in balan… Continue
